Artificial Intelligence Policy

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy for Authors and Reviewers

  1. Policy Purpose This policy outlines the acceptable and prohibited uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies (such as Large Language Models, ChatGPT, and automated data tools) in the submission, review, and publication processes of this journal. We are committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, and accountability in scientific publishing.
  2. Guidelines for Authors
  • Authorship Eligibility: AI tools and generative AI models cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship carries legal and ethical responsibilities—such as accountability for accuracy, integrity, and original authorship—which AI models cannot hold or execute.
  • Permissible Use of AI:
    • AI tools may be used solely to improve readability, grammar, spelling, or stylistic flow of the original manuscript.
    • AI tools may be used for preliminary background research, brainstorm ideas, or basic data formatting, provided that all outputs are independently verified by the authors.
  • Prohibited Use of AI:
    • Creating fake, manipulated, or hallucinated data, citations, figures, or visual assets using AI.
    • Generating substantive, original parts of the manuscript (such as core hypotheses, analysis, or primary interpretations) entirely through AI.
  • Mandatory Disclosure:
    • If AI tools were used in the research design, data analysis, or writing process, authors must disclose this in an "AI Disclosure Statement" located before the References section.
    • The statement must detail: Name of the AI tool/model, version, manufacturer, date of use, and a brief description of how the tool was applied.

Sample Disclosure Statement: "During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Tool Name/Version] to [reason, e.g., improve text readability and syntax]. After using this tool, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as necessary and take full responsibility for the content of the publication."

  1. Guidelines for Peer Reviewers and Editors
  • Confidentiality: Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts, abstracts, or any portion of submitted files into generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for evaluation, summarizing, or proofreading. Uploading submitted work violates author confidentiality and intellectual property rights.
  • Human Evaluation: Peer-review reports and editorial assessments must be written entirely by human reviewers. Automated review summaries or AI-generated feedback are strictly prohibited.
  1. Policy Violations

Manuscripts found to violate this AI policy—including undisclosed AI usage, generated non-existent citations, or fake data—will be subject to immediate rejection or retraction post-publication in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
