Allegation of Research Misconduct

Reporting Concerns

Concerns about fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, improper authorship, unethical research, duplicate publication or manipulation of peer review may be raised with the editorial office through the journal contact page.

Initial Assessment

The editor assesses whether an allegation is specific and sufficiently supported, protects confidentiality where appropriate, and seeks relevant documentation. An allegation alone does not establish misconduct.

Investigation and Fair Process

Where warranted, the editor may request explanations from authors or reviewers and refer matters requiring institutional investigation to the appropriate institutions, consistent with COPE guidance.

Outcomes

Depending on the evidence, outcomes may include no action, clarification, correction, expression of concern, rejection or retraction. Journal notices should be transparent and linked to the original article where applicable.
