3. Manuscript Language

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English using clear, accurate, and academically appropriate language. Authors are responsible for ensuring grammatical accuracy, consistency of terminology, and readability.

4. Manuscript Formatting

Manuscripts should follow the official CEJou article template and the following formatting requirements, as established in the journal's existing author instructions:

Paper Size A4
Manuscript Length 10–15 pages
Font Times New Roman
Font Size 12 pt (main text)
Line Spacing 1.5
Columns Two columns
Margins 3 cm on all sides
File Format Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
Equations Editable equation editor

Where the current official article template specifies different formatting, the journal management must harmonize these instructions with that template before implementation.

5. Manuscript Structure

5.1. Article Title

The title must be concise, informative, specific, and accurately represent the research. The existing CEJou guideline recommends 5–12 words in Indonesian or 5–10 words in English, where appropriate. Unnecessary abbreviations should be avoided.

5.2. Author Names and Affiliations

Provide each author's full name without academic titles, institutional affiliation, country, and email address. Clearly identify the corresponding author. Author information entered in OJS must match the submitted manuscript.

5.3. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should summarize the research background or objective, methods, principal findings, and conclusion. It should be self-contained and avoid unnecessary citations. Keywords should accurately represent the study's main concepts. Authors must follow the abstract length and number of keywords specified in the official CEJou template.

5.4. Introduction

The introduction should explain the research background, relevant previous studies, research gap, scholarly significance, and objectives. The existing guidance recommends approximately 15–20% of the manuscript for this section.

5.5. Research Methodology

Describe the research approach, design, participants or data sources, instruments, data collection procedures, and analytical methods. Provide enough detail to allow scholarly assessment and, where appropriate, replication. The existing guidance recommends approximately 10–15% of the manuscript.

5.6. Results and Discussion

Present findings clearly and systematically, supported by relevant tables, figures, or other evidence where necessary. Discuss the findings in relation to research questions, previous studies, theoretical frameworks, and the study's contribution. The existing guidance recommends approximately 40–60% of the manuscript for this section.

5.7. Conclusion

Summarize the principal findings, answer the research objectives, and explain the theoretical or practical implications. Avoid introducing unsupported claims or repeating the entire discussion. The existing guidance recommends approximately 10–15% of the manuscript.

5.8. Acknowledgments and Funding

Disclose relevant research funding, grants, institutional support, and contributions that do not meet the criteria for authorship. Include grant or contract numbers when applicable.

5.9. References

All references must be relevant, accurate, and cited in the manuscript. The existing CEJou guidance recommends that at least 80% of references come from primary scholarly sources, with emphasis on publications from the previous ten years. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.

6. Tables, Figures and Equations

  • Number tables and figures consecutively.
  • Provide clear and informative captions.
  • Refer to every table and figure in the manuscript text.
  • Ensure sufficient image quality for publication.
  • Use editable equations rather than images of mathematical expressions.
  • Obtain permission when using copyrighted material that is not covered by an applicable license or exception.

7. Originality and Publication Ethics

Authors must comply with the journal's ethical requirements, including:

  • Originality and avoidance of plagiarism.
  • No simultaneous submission or redundant publication.
  • Accurate presentation of research data and findings.
  • Proper attribution of sources and contributions.
  • Disclosure of funding and conflicts of interest.
  • Ethical approval and informed consent, where applicable.
  • Disclosure of relevant artificial intelligence assistance according to journal policy.
  • Cooperation with legitimate editorial inquiries and corrections.

Similarity screening may be used as part of editorial assessment. Similarity percentages are evaluated together with the context and nature of the matched material; a numerical score alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred.

8. Authorship and Contributor Responsibilities

All listed authors must have made a substantive scholarly contribution, approved the submitted version, and accepted responsibility for their respective contributions. Individuals who contributed but do not qualify for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.

Changes to authorship after submission must be explained to the editorial team and supported by agreement among the relevant contributors.

10. Peer Review and Editorial Decisions

Submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening followed, where appropriate, by blind peer review conducted by qualified reviewers. Reviewers assess originality, relevance, methodological quality, findings, discussion, and scholarly contribution.

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts. Reviewer recommendations inform editorial decisions, but final acceptance or rejection is determined by the authorized editor.

11. Manuscript Revision

Authors receiving revision requests should submit a revised manuscript together with a response explaining how reviewer and editor comments have been addressed. Where recommendations are not adopted, authors should provide scholarly justification.

Revisions must be submitted within the deadline communicated through the editorial system, or an extension should be requested where necessary.

12. Copyright and Licensing

CEJou provides open access to published articles. The journal's existing copyright information refers to the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

Reuse of published material is governed by the license and copyright notice applicable to each article. Authors should review the journal's copyright and licensing terms before completing submission.
